Exclusive Technologies
Ultimate 3D is equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. The AS3X works behind the scenes to soften the effects of wind and turbulence to provide a locked-in feel that makes it look like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional use SAFE Select offers tilt and bank angle limits with automatic self-levelling that can be turned on or off with the flip of a switch! If you don't want to enable SAFE Select features, simply connect the receiver as normal and only AS3X will be active.

If this is your first RC airplane, Horizon Hobby's exclusive SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology prevents overcontrol and crashes while offering multiple flight modes to provide more control and capability as your skills progress:
Beginner Mode
In this flight mode, the airplane's pitch and bank angles are limited to prevent excessive movements that could cause loss of control and crashes. When the control sticks are released, the aircraft automatically returns to level flight, allowing you to relax and simply enjoy 'steering' the aircraft in the sky. This flight mode also makes takeoff and landing easier.
Intermediate Mode
This flight mode provides more freedom in pitch and bank, but still avoids significant overcontrol and the aircraft does not return to level flight on its own. This allows you to take tighter turns and climb and descend faster as your skills progress. In addition, Beginner Mode automatically activates and returns the aircraft to level flight when it descends approximately 30 feet below ground level and the control sticks are released.
Experienced Mode
In Experienced Mode, there are no tilt or bank angle limits, so you have full control! You can even fly upside down and perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, stall turns and more. Panic Recovery can be activated by switching to Startup Mode and releasing the control sticks.
Panic Button
If you lose control of the aircraft in Intermediate or Experienced flight modes, simply switch to Beginner Mode and release the control sticks. SAFE technology automatically returns the aircraft to level flight.
