Even if you've never driven a radio-controlled (RC) airplane before, the Carbon Cub S 2 is the most versatile, capable and easiest-to-fly scale RC airplane ever! And everything you need to use is included!
Based on CubCrafters' Carbon Cub, an upgraded and thoroughly modern iteration of the classic Super Cub, and equipped with Horizon Hobby's exclusive and innovative SAFE technology, this scale replica makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully. And with the addition of telemetry enabled and Smart components including an ESC, battery and charger (battery and charger sold separately for BNF® Basic version), SAFE Plus® GPS-enabled technology and the option to add a Landing Assistance Sensor (LAS) make learning to fly never happen. makes it easier than ever!
The HobbyZone® Carbon Cub S 2 is the easiest to fly, most capable and versatile scale trainer RC airplane! It is equipped with the exclusive SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps prevent excessive control, disorientation and collisions so that almost anyone can learn to fly successfully. Beginner, Intermediate, and Experienced modes let you choose the level of stability and control you need or are ready to experiment with, with a single button. And with the push of a button in any flight mode, you can instantly return to stable flight using Panic Rescue. The oversized tires enable takeoff and landing on a variety of surfaces such as thick grass, gravel roads, dirt roads and smooth pavement, or you can install optional buoys to fly out of the water – adding to its unmatched versatility and capabilities.
The Carbon Cub S 2 is equipped with a 30 amp telemetry ESC that provides compatible Spektrum™ AirWare™ equipped transmitters with a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including engine speed, current, battery voltage and more. Approximate flight battery power remaining via multiple LEDs on the DXS transmitter included with the RTF version. The addition of special Spektrum Smart components, including a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery and charger, makes smooth and safe charging more convenient (battery and charger sold separately for BNF® Basic version). You also have the option to easily upgrade to SAFE Plus GPS-enabled technology, which offers features like AutoLand and Virtual Fence, along with the option to automatically install the "flashing" Landing Assistance Sensor (LAS) for smoother landings to make learning easier. Flying - and landing safely - is easier than ever!

SAFE TECHNOLOGY
Beginner Mode
In this flight mode, the airplane's pitch and bank angles are limited to prevent excessive movements that could cause loss of control and crashes. When the control sticks are released, the aircraft automatically returns to level flight, allowing you to relax and simply enjoy 'steering' the aircraft in the sky. This flight mode also makes takeoff and landing easier.
Intermediate Mode
This flight mode provides more freedom in pitch and bank, but still avoids significant overcontrol and the aircraft does not return to level flight on its own. This allows you to take tighter turns and climb and descend faster as your skills progress. In addition, Beginner Mode automatically activates and returns the aircraft to level flight when it descends approximately 30 feet below ground level and the control sticks are released.
Experienced Mode
In Experienced Mode, there are no tilt or bank angle limits, so you have full control! You can even fly upside down and perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, stall turns and more. Panic Recovery can be activated by switching to Startup Mode and releasing the control sticks.
Panic Button
If you lose control of the aircraft in Intermediate or Experienced flight modes, simply switch to Beginner Mode and release the control sticks. SAFE technology automatically returns the aircraft to level flight.
