The Habu STS 70mm EDF is based on the legendary Habu, one of the best high performance Electric Duct Fan (EDF) sport jet platforms ever created. E-flite® engineers have optimized the design to improve low speed handling and low speed performance and added options to take advantage of exclusive Spektrum™ SAFE® flight assist technology and innovative Intelligent components. All in all, the Habu STS 70mm EDF flies the easiest RC jet ever and is the perfect choice to satisfy any RC pilot's desire to fly a jet!
The E-flite® Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE®) 70mm EDF makes it possible to learn to fly in a jet as the first radio-controlled (RC) designed for better low-speed handling and performance to facilitate flight. ) Based on one of the best Electric Duct Fan (EDF) sport jets ever designed, it has been specifically optimized with the addition of SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology with Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced flight modes to facilitate successful flying. The inclusion of proprietary Spektrum™ Smart components, including a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery and charger, makes it easier to charge properly and safely. The wide-stance tricycle landing gear with steerable nose wheel and oversized tires allows for takeoffs and landings on surfaces ranging from paved runways to grass and even dirt, and you can use the optional Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) that automatically "shines" more smoothly. So it will be even easier to learn how to land! Best of all, the durable EPO fuselage installs quickly and easily without the need for adhesives or special tools – meaning you can be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery.
The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes everything needed to fly in one box and is a great choice if you're a new RC pilot. From the Spektrum DXS 2.4GHz transmitter, you can use the Habu STS with other Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) and BNF Basic drones once you learn to fly with a 3S 4000mAh Smart LiPo battery and a handy S120 USB-C Smart charger. Can be used with a variety of USB power supplies, nothing extra you need to buy or provide! A Plug-and-Play® (PNP) version allows experienced modelers to select and use their own transmitters, receivers, batteries and chargers. And for both versions, a telemetry-capable ESC and powerful brushless power system including servos are all factory-installed.

Learn to fly an RC Airplane with SAFE ® Technology!
If this is your first RC airplane, Horizon Hobby's exclusive SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology prevents overcontrol and crashes while offering multiple flight modes to provide more control and capability as your skills progress:
Beginner Mode
In this flight mode, the airplane's pitch and bank angles are limited to prevent excessive movements that could cause loss of control and crashes. When the control sticks are released, the aircraft automatically returns to level flight, allowing you to relax and simply enjoy 'steering' the aircraft in the sky. This flight mode also makes takeoff and landing easier.
Intermediate Mode
This flight mode provides more freedom in pitch and bank, but still avoids significant overcontrol and the aircraft does not return to level flight on its own. This allows you to take tighter turns and climb and descend faster as your skills progress. In addition, Beginner Mode automatically activates the aircraft and returns to level flight when it descends approximately 30 feet below ground level and the control sticks are released.
Experienced Mode
In Experienced Mode, there are no tilt or bank angle limits, so you have full control! You can even fly upside down and perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, stall turns and more. Panic Recovery can be activated by switching to Startup Mode and releasing the control sticks.
Panic Button
If you lose control of the aircraft in Intermediate or Experienced flight modes, simply switch to Beginner Mode and release the control sticks. SAFE technology automatically returns the aircraft to level flight.
